Reconnect With Your Library

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! This is the perfect time to reacquaint yourself with the Library and what we have to offer.

The good news is that all branches of the Palm Beach County Library System (PBCLS) are currently open with programs being offered digitally through the website, www.pbclibrary.org.

PBCLS has many resources available to help students and parents. Check out what the library has to offer either virtually or at one of the 17 branches located throughout the County.

For example, staff are available by phone, email and chat to answer technology and other research questions through Ask-A-Librarian at www.pbclibrary.org.

Also on the PBCLS website home page you can access a variety of resources by clicking on the Virtual Library button and then scrolling down to Online Resources to find:

Homework Help Tutor.com and Live Homework Help is a free library service that offers online tutoring in math, science, social studies and language arts. Live one-on-one sessions are available every day from 12:00 pm – 12:00 am. Assistance in Spanish is available from 2:00 pm – 12:00 am.

Learning Express An online learning site with skill building modules for elementary, middle and high school students, test preparation materials and practice exams; including test preparation e-books. Take practice tests for the GED, SAT, FCAT, fire fighter, postal worker exams and many more.

The Library also creates content through our Digital Activities. Go to www.pbclibrary.org/digital-activities to see the wide range of programming we offer including story times, book discussions, STEM and teen activities.

There are also programs geared to homeschoolers such as:

Homeschool Meetup: Shaping Peace Together

Mon, Sep 21, 1:00 pm

Contribute to building a culture of Peace by learning more about this special day. We’ll learn about library resources, share a story, and make an origami heart. Presented by the Hagen Ranch Road Branch. Grades K-6. (30 min.)

The PBCLS mission is to “Connect Communities, Inspire Thought and Enrich Lives.” With this in mind, we are always looking for ways to better serve our members. For example, two new services include expanded Wi-Fi signals throughout the parking lot as well as remote printing. Visit http://ow.ly/XEpc50B4Enf for details.

This has been a short introduction of the scope of services PBCLS offers. Remember we are happy to help you with your information needs. Good luck learning and growing this year!
